Details:
These 15 tracks come from the days when Mex-Econo (The Outer Banks of North Carolina''s Golden Age rock club) was king and The Jungle Lords rode a tsunami wave of success playing the Chitlin Circuit (a well-knit circuit of small clubs through the Southeast and Midwest). Many of these songs charted #1 on college radio back in the days when college radio mattered and gave independent artists a chance. The stylings range from surf pop to Texi-Cali latin twang. Some of the tunes represent 80''s cowpunk at its finest. There are punk pop ballads like "Not the Hurtin'' Kind" and funky groove dance riots and rave-ups like "Mama La Bamba". The Lords'' special brand of roots-based primal acoustic comes in the form of "Swamp Music". You''ll find comedic relief in the Spanglish strains of "Los Blob", an adaptation of the Bacharach/Mack theme song from the original film starring Steve McQueen.
Three bonus tracks featuring the band''s original members (Dominic Carpin, Sean Sumner and John Moore) round out the disc.
