Details:
Charlyce Simmons was born in Orlando, Florida to Bishop Edward and Carolyn Thomas of El Bethel Temple of Jesus @ Orlando. She is the seventh child of ten.
She has been singing since she was three years old. From grades two through eight she attended private schools, then continued her education at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida.
During her second year of High School she was diagnosed with kidney failure and was placed on dialysis. Despite extended absences from school due to illness, she graduated in 1998. After graduation she attended Valencia for a year. In the spring of 1999, she received a much needed kidney transplant.
After months of healing, she got her first job at the Holiday Inn as a Reservations Clerk. But by the end of 1999 she learned that she needed a total hip replacement.
In February 2001 she received a hip replacement. And, after six months of intensive physical therapy, she went to work as the Administrative Assistant for El Bethel Christian Academy and Personal Assistant to the Principal, a position she still maintains.
She met Alonzo in 2002 and they married a year later. The Lord has given her a new song to sing and she will glorify Him every chance she get. He is truly worthy to be praised!
