Details:
In Haggis Rampant''s third CD, father/daughter pipers Steve and Gillian Brownlee continue their habit of stirring up traditional and newer tunes with harmonies and fresh arrangements. They''ve even dusted off three standards from the first, pre-Gillian CD; brightening them up in a way that keeps a 15-year-old kid piper from yawning. Add to the mix Pam''s driving drumbeats on bodhran and Scottish marching bass, and you get a rousing style that is Haggis Rampant''s own. As an added twist, Gillian and her violin make a brief appearance on one of the tracks.

For collectors of trivia: "trì" is Scottish for "three" (sort of pronounced like "try") -- a tidy choice for the third CD by a group of three musicians who let three years pass since the last CD. And, oh yeah, the CD is the result of three nights of recording...

Haggis Rampant started as a fun collaboration between Steve and Pam in 2000, when they began playing at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. But it wasn''t long before Gillian decided to follow in her father''s footsteps, and in 2004 the three released "Wee Beastie," a CD named in the then 12-year-old Gillian''s honor.

Today, when Gillian and Steve aren''t butting their hard heads together (father and daughter, remember?), the two award-winning pipers create a sound on the Great Highland bagpipes that brings the soul of Scotland to listeners.
