History: A member of the soon to be formed ''The MOJO Band'', from southwestern Louisiana, was ‘soul searching’ on what would make the best ingredients for a new Zydeco group, possibly something new or something of old but with a new twist added to it ? Enter, Johnny Chauvin’, a one hot rockin’ accordion player from the land of Franklin, Louisiana. “Just maybe, just maybe”, he thinks to himself…, as he contemplates the thought of forming a hot rockin'' zydeco group. heck, here’s ‘Hot Chopper’ Chauvin belting riffs on his prized accordion, a works already in progress , who knows every nuance of Zydeco right down to the art of dancing to it !! …Based on his past experiences and the ins and outs of starting a new group put him on a journey in search of the right players. Johnny embarks on the journey, following the Cajun brick road and lo’ and behold encounters the first but second member of the newly formed band, Paul Guidry aka ''T-Paul'', guitarist, lead and back-up vocals. Armed with a colorful music background, Paul Guidry sets the smooth, soulful yet chunky guitar rythms to Johnnys'' melodious groove. A hybrid style of guitar playing and he uses a finger-picking technique, (thumbpick), unlike any other , that must be seen as well as heard. But be on the look-out T-Paul has some originals in his satchel that will soon be released on a second CD and it''s worth a look (or ear) to hear what the group can do when these originals once they are are out in the airwaves !!! Johnny, excited about his findings and with a newfound enthusiasm, dusts off the old chronicles pulling out classic rock tunes that can be set to his melodious accordian licks, a sort of re-kindling past grooves for the bands new style of Zydeco. The stage is set but one more challenge along the journey is yet to be accomplished, whom to lay out the beats and end this beaten path ? Who but Johnny''s talisman of rhythm, drummer, Mike Giarratano of New Iberia, LA. and the infamous Terminator on bass, Wayne Hebert from Baldwin, LA. Here, ends the bountiful search but a new journey begins. …Give a listen to the beta version of the groups Zydeco style, a force to be reckoned with, if you will.
