In August of 2005, singer/songwriter Shaun David moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to San Jose, California, where he met Adam Wright. Adam, a singer/songwriter himself, had posted an ad on Craig''s List looking for another person to jam with, and maybe play some Eagles and Beatles covers.
Over the next two years, Shaun and Adam never really played the covers, but they did write a bunch of original tunes and started playing those around a couple venues in San Jose. They mainly played as a duo, or sometimes with friend (and singer/songwriter), Jeremiah Wheeler on hand percussion.
They decided to call themselves One Good Round, and proceeded to record an album at Gadgetbox Studio in Santa Cruz, California, with Andy Zenczak. "Therapy" is an 8 song album that combines both Adam and Shaun on lead and backing vocals, as well as acoustic and electric guitars. Along with Jeremiah on the djembe and Keith Washo (another Bay Area musician) on the Keyboards, "Therapy" offers a sound somewhere in between acoustic singer/songwriter and full rock band.
In September of 2007, the band reached it''s full lineup. Jason Daniels, a childhood friend of Shaun''s, moved to California and provided the full drum set the duo never had before. Around the same time, Shaun played a show in Santa Cruz, and met their future Bass player, David Roberto, formerly of Red Menace. Jason and David are now providing the backbone for Shaun and Adam to lay their melodies over.
What''s next, you say? The plan is to play live in the Bay Area as much as possible, and to start recording the next album by the fall of 2008. See you around!
