Details:
His Majesty Saak Saakul I

His Majesty owes his noble title to his admirers in recognition of his musical talent.
Saak Saakul started out playing in bands in Kinshasa, his home town.
His reign began in 1969 when he joined the group Vévé led by his friend Verckys.
Under the pseudonym Max-Sinatra, Saak became the star of the group.
His success in Zaire ld to him beginning to write his own songs, the first of which were Fifi Solange, Marie Sango and Pronostic.
Then, with two comrades from Vévé, the Congolese Djeiskain and the Angolan Mario, Saak founded the trio Attaque Bazooka, whish came to be known Madjesi, an acronym of their names for whish Saak used his patronymic, Sinuku.
They began performing live at the Vis-à-Vis bar in Kinshasa. Their devoted following clambered onto vantage points on the neighbouring buildings to see them, resulting in the collapse of the roof of a church on one occasion.
The following year, they were invited to perform at the mammoth concert organised to coincide with the world title bout between Mohammed Ali and George Foreman in Kinshasa, sharing a billing with B.B. King and James Brown.
Today, the trio’s reign has come to an end but His Majesty Saak Saakul I is not about to abdicate.
