Both of Miranda''s parents had a big impact in his life. His mother Jeannette Miranda Villalobos took seriously the advise from Miranda''s Sabbath school teacher when she told her that he had the talent of singing and it should be developed. His mother registered Miranda at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music in Chicago, IL where he learned extensively about vocal performance. Miranda''s father, Generoso Miranda was not much involved in Miranda''s life due to his addiction to alcohol and other problems, which led his parents to divorce. Miranda experienced the sorrow of death when his father took his life away, which had a tremendous impact in his life at the age of 9. Years later his mother passed away after battling with cancer for several years. Through it all, God had a plan in Miranda''s life... Miranda is in deep gratitude with his mother, because through all the adversity, her effort, determination and persistent she was able to leave her positive influence and beautiful spirit instilled in his heart.
The debut album "Elton" is a collection of songs that has a deep meaning in his life. "My Tribute" (Mi Tributo) is a song that will dwell in Miranda''s heart because he will always be grateful to God for all the things that He has done in his life. It was also the last song that he sang to his father before he passed away. Miranda translated the lyrics "The Anchor Holds" (Mi Ancla es Dios) into Spanish, when he heard it for the first time; he was able to identify himself with the song. With what he had gone through life he realized that God has been, still is, and will always be his anchor no matter what storm may come his way. The album concludes with the song "I Am Determine" (Yo Estoy Resulto), which summarizes that no matter what happens in life, he will always be determine to live for the King!
In 2001 Miranda graduated from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor in Medical Technology. After working for several years of working in the field, he decided to return to school. Currently he is pursuing a second bachelor degree in Nursing. He has a passion for science and caring for ill people. Miranda believes that nursing and music leaves a long lasting impression in people''s heart.
Elton Miranda''s open-hearted singing on his debut album is filled with a passionate sincerity that promises to open many hearts and be receptive to the messages of each song.
