Born in Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham, England I settled in Yorkshire after I got a Fine Art degree. I spent a short time as a fashion designer then moved into advertising. Eight years elapsed and it was while working in a finance house that I had something of an Epiphany and realized that my life had gone completely off at a tangent. After a short PGCE course I went into teaching and as my career developed life seemed to have gained more purpose.
When I was twelve years old I went on a school trip to Spain and on the second day I blew half my spending money on my first guitar. I felt like I’d gone to heaven.
I formed my first band while at college and our first gig was in a very large local Chinese restaurant where we out numbered the audience.
Since then music has always been a significant presence in my life and I’ve played in pub bands over the years. With several residencies I played in most of the local venues but I just got bored with doing covers. I bought some recording gear and set about writing and recording my own material. I survived cancer seven years ago which really got me back into action and now I''ve completed two albums with a third on its way.
Suck It And See was recorded with the help of some great musicians who are scattered around the country and just enjoy playing with no real desire to go out on the road. Fortunately I’ve finally been able to get a band together of really good experienced musicians. We’ve been rehearsing seriously since the beginning of the year and the plan is to be out on the road in the spring/summer. Coincidentally we all share the mutual ambition to play our way across America along Route 66. One day soon we’ll be playing in your neighborhood, stay tuned to your local radio.
Since the album was released on CD Baby we’ve been knocked out by the response. From Japan across the world to Europe and the USA the interest has bowled us over. I’m pleased to say it has gained a bit of following among Country Music artists which is brilliant. https://www.tradebit.com
