A Trophy Life was started as a solo project in early 2006 by a boy named Joshua McDaniel from the Rain City of Vancouver. Later that year he found a boy named Harrison Bourdon, from Medicine Hat, in the gutter and taught him some manners. ''The Quit Your Life EP'', was written over and about the last few years and the culmination of the idea of both of us just quitting work, quitting school, quitting life and doing whats really in our hearts and on our minds all day. It was recorded at The Hive Studios in Vancouver B.C. with the help of our families and loved ones, in early January 2007. After a few more months and concentrations on finding a sharper sound and more members, A Trophy Life moved towards a post pop-punk sound taking after more recent influences like our boys Living With Lions (https://www.tradebit.com and Daggermouth (https://www.tradebit.com With a few new songs and a whole new drive, A Trophy Life set out on an Alberta/West Coast tour and was back in the studio before they knew it, finishing their first full length record in May of 2007 with Stu Mckillop at Hive Studios. Over the summer of 2007, Mixing, Mastering, and Artwork were in the works, and a permanent re-location from Fort McMurray, Alberta to Vancouver, B.C. was undertaken. The Fall of 2007 will be their first season as a full time band, and A Trophy Life looks embracingly forward to the tours, shows, and friends that are doomed to befall them.
