Details:
San Francisco Bay Area-based Beth Kohnen is known for the deep tone and powerful blues feeling she brings to the harmonica. A passionate student of the great Chicago blues players, Beth''s musical style most resembles the sound of Big Walter Horton.
Beth came to the ''City by the Bay'' in 1976. For many years she played gospel piano and harmonica in a small Berkeley church. Her love of blues drew her out to the clubs and by 1997 she was a frequent guest artist of Grammy-winning blues guitarist Steve Freund at the Ivy Room in Albany. By 2005 she had her own actively gigging band and had recorded two CDs.
Besides booking her band in well known SF Bay Area venues Beth has ''guested'' on stage with blues legends Rusty Zinn,
RJ Mischo, Wendy DeWitt, Birdlegg, Levi Lloyd, Robert Watson, Volker Strifler, and Eric Lindell.
Expect astounding harmonica instrumentals by Beth, assured and tasteful guitar by John Graham, solid "church style" bass by Thomas Wallace , and driving drum rhythms by Willy Jordan Jr.
