Emily Scheltgen grew up in a musical family. Her father played in a rock band, gave guitar lessons, and owned a recording studio. Her mother had loved music her whole life, and sang in church. When she was 13 her dad gave her a guitar, and started teaching her how to play. Less than a year later, she was bursting with songs, and ready to record an album.
She played each one, completely acoustic, for her dad, and they decided which to use. Her songs were hopeful songs about being with someone you care about, and the difficulty of letting them go. She gave him a burn CD of her favorite bands, and they were off!
Her family and friends supported her, and her parent’s musician friends were jealous, so she figured she was doing a good job! She got loads of new experience from recording this album, she was so excited for getting to be in a photo shoot, and playing her own songs in front of other people.
When her album finally came out, she was so excited, that is, until her dad told her how many she had to sell before she broke even. Still, she was excited as ever to get her music out. Thanks to everyone who worked on her album, and for all of the fantastic support!
