The backup singers were in the army stationed at nearby Ford Ord California. The group performed at local churches and later sang Doo Wop R&B cover songs.
Luther wrote and arranged their [Best Seller] White Port And Lemon Juice (WPLJ) and followed up with “Down It Went” and “The Nest Is Warm” (but the goose is gone).The group performed concerts halls and night clubs throughout Central and Northern California.
The group disbanded 1956 after the military guys were discharged from the army.
Luther continued recording and performing as Lord Luther, wrote and recorded “Just One More Chance” and “I Cant Get Your Out of My Mind” and “Someone Somewhere” "Tough" and "Two of A Kind" followed with many other recordings. Perfommed at night clubs and concerts throughout the West Coast and Mid-West, made various TV appearances.
Left the night-life entertainment scene in the 80’s [didn’t last long] got back on the scene and produced Pure Soul Music album [2007] currently "Resurrection" a self-publishing Company on his independent label.
He’s back w/Passion, Excitement and lots of soulful genres of music doing what he love and enjoying it and looking forward to helping other talented musicians and singer get on the good foot!
