Details:
Cape Cod resident, Grace O''Connor, received her BA and MS in Music Education from Adelphi University and Queens College of the University of the City of New York. A classically trained singer, Grace auditioned and was accepted at the prestigious Cabaret Symposium at the Eugene O''Neill Theater Center in Connecticut, and after a vigorous training period with the likes of Margaret Whiting and Julie Wilson, she exchanged her Bach and Handel for Bock and Harnick. Soon joining the team were award winning director, Scott Barnes, and well-known musical director and arranger, Christopher Marlowe. With the two men "in her corner," Grace has delighted audiences at Manhattan''s Danny''s Skylight Room, Don''t Tell Mama, and the Garrick at the Mayfair Hotel. Her first CD,"A Time for Love," featuring 14 of Marlowe''s distinctive arrangements, has gotten critical acclaim and air play on stations across the United States. Her CD, "Smile," features 12 arrangements by her current musical director, Doug Hammer, in addition to three of Marlowe''s arrangements. Musical accompaniment on the CD is provided by Doug Hammer - piano and orchestra and Bruce Abbott - soprano and tenor saxophone, clarinet and flute. She continues to delight audiences with her
unforgettable song stylings.
