Jon Parker began playing organ when he was 3. Eventually switching to Piano and Tuba, music became a passion of his, and he''s always sought out new ways to advance the musical art form. In 1995, Jon began his professional career performing with groups and as a solo artist. From 1995 to 2002 he led his jazz trio, The Jon Parker Trio (JP3), through several live and recorded radio and TV appearances and opened for such acts as the Bob James Trio. In 1997, JP3 released their first CD titled "One Way" that received much airplay on Denver''s KUVO jazz radio station.

Upon enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2002, Jon performed with the U.S. Army Bands and was Jazz Combo director with the 113th Army Band "Dragoons" at Fort Knox. In 2005 he was reassigned to the SHAPE International Band (formerly the NATO Big Band) in Casteau, Belgium. For nearly 2 years he toured Europe under the NATO flag promoting a positive diplomatic relationship between the 26 NATO countries and their allies. He regularly performed for the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) GEN James L. Jones, as well as many international senior military officials, Royalty, heads of state, Ambassadors, and Senators from all over the world. Recording with the SHAPE Jazz Orchestra, he was involved in the production of a 2 CD tribute to all 26 NATO countries which will be completed in 2008.

In addition to his position with the SHAPE International Band, Jon was Music Director of the SHAPE Entertainment Centre''s community theatre program in Mons Belgium. Under his direction, the Orchestra won first prize in the 2006 annual Tournament of Plays (TOPPERS) ceremony in Heidelberg, Germany. Additionally, Jon was nominated for "Best Keyboard Accompanist" during that tournament.

In December 2006, Jon was awarded a US Army ROTC scholarship giving him a leave from Active Duty to pursue his musical education. Since then, Jon has been studying Jazz piano and Conducting at the University of Denver''s Lamont School of Music under Jazz pianist Eric Gunnison and conductor Simeone Tartaglione.
