Details:
In 1973, on the advise of legendary country rock singer Gram Parsons, George Kincheloe left Boston and brought his singing/songwriting skills to L.A. While there he worked in studio and on stage with such talents as Loggins and Messina, Gene Clark (Byrds), Al Kooper, Andy Kuhlberg (Blues Project, Seatrain) and Al Stewart.

More recently, George has been leader & lead vocalist for two popular Northern California bands, Boardinghouse Reach and Hooligan (Nu Motion Records) and has appeared in concert with Dave Mason, The Doobie Brothers, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Elvin Bishop, Norton Buffalo, and Marty Balin.

Here are some reviews of his 1994 release: Painted Dragon

“I know an authentic life when I see one, and I can’t listen to your music without being touched by the authentic.” Bill Moyers

“George Kincheloe is that rarest of discoveries: a real poet writing songs about the real human world. His long overdue arrival is something to celebrate greedily and joyously.” Peter S. Beagle author of The Last Unicorn.

“If you are adventurous enough to seek out original material, and you love acoustic music with an edge, this recording is for you. This is really one place where there are no weak songs and no fillers. The sound and production values are first rate and the musicianship is superb. Most of all, though, the songs and the singing stand out on their own, and make the listening experience worthwhile. Seek out this recording.”
David Stafford Bluegrass by the Bay Magazine

“His gravelly voice, delicate guitar picking, and subtle piano lines recall Gordon Lightfoot. The sentimental lyrics of such songs as ‘Sugar Boy’ and ‘Painted Dragon’ are classic...there is no doubt that Kincheloe takes his music very seriously.”
