Lennie MacDonald was one of the first English artists to be signed to Arista Records in the 1970s. He wrote and recorded the LP Hard road. The album was recorded in London at Island Studios and featured ex-King Crimson members Mike Giles/drums, Mel Collins/sax, Albert Lee pedal steal, Gerry Hogan and Ray Jackson lindisfarn/mandolin/harmonica. With the Lennie MacDonald band he toured Britain with the late and now legendary Marc Bolan and T-rex appearing at Glasgow Apollo Manchester free trade hall and London Lyceum Ballroom. With the end of his record deal and the advent of punk MacDonald moved to Europe and became a busker playing the streets of Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva, Zurich and Milan. He met many now successful musicians along the way (singer Madeline Peyroux, jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter, and singer/songwriter Angie Palmer. Now with a new 11 song cd. This is a true solo record recorded in Lennie''s home digital studio with nobody else involved.
