Million Dollar Itch (MDI) is a gritty "hard wave" band with a very unique, driving sound that hails from the seedier parts of the SF/Oakland Bay Area. The band is fronted by Jonny Darkness (vocals, guitar), and is backed by the expert rhythm section of Steve Beacham (bass and backing vocals), and Brain "Bub" McCarthy (drums). Ron Heckert on keys rounds out the quartet.
MDI is not a band that can be adequately pigeonholed into a specific musical genre. MDI has been compared to such diverse bands as Devo, The Butthole Surfers, Gary Numan, and a variety of late 80''s, early 90''s death rock (band names needed for comparison here).
The record, "Angry America" was officially released on the 12th of December.
