Details:
Once upon a time there was a band comprised of three talented, congenial rockers who dwelt in the mountains of Santa Cruz. They would roam the hillside looking for morsels to sustain themselves, declaiming to the distant, silent stars, and all the while not so quietly etching out a reputation locally for their positive, inspired and extremely danceable rock performances. Having started out as the house band at a Soquel conference center in the eighties, they were soon playing local fairs and festivals, approaching their unique and highly contagious brand of power pop with reckless abandon and reveling in the wild, untrammeled joy of the musical moment. Through drought and flood, through feast and famine, through good times and bad, the music lived on, continuing to beguile and excite local fans and win new converts.

The addition of Patrick Hughes on drums in 2007 launched the band’s repertoire into the stratosphere in terms of energy and dynamics. Pat is also a talented keyboardist and his vocals are heard, alongside Andy’s and George’s, in the harmonies that grace the brand new Mostly Human CD, "We Are Mostly Human."

Michael Hodjera, the band’s chief songwriter, singer and guitarist is a former UA/ Europe recording artist. He has a dozen solo CDs to his credit under the names Alien Bliss and Angels and Astronauts. His CDs are available through CD Baby.

George Galt, harmonica player extraordinaire, rhythm guitarist and singer, is an alumnus of the seminal British-based folk-rock band, Fairport Convention. George was also once a member of the acclaimed and recently rediscovered psychedelic era band, Ant Trip Ceremony. He has recorded several solo CDs.

Andy Robbins, the band’s distinctive bassist, is well known on the local music scene in his own right as an accomplished folk musician, ukelele player and banjoist.

Incredibly, the new Mostly Human CD, “We Are Mostly Human,” is the band’s first-ever studio effort. It features a collection of personal favorites from the band''s repertoire as it has evolved over the years and captures the excitement and energy of the band''s live performances.

Enjoy!
