Details:
When the Neins first formed in 2002, it was a loose group of friends looking to have a good time. They began playing some shows in and around Vancouver, Canada and the line-up eventually grew to six members with multiple songwriters. A small loyal group of fans developed from their high-energy and quirky performances and a self-produced self-titled EP was released soon after.

In 2004, The Neins caught the attention of The New Pornographer''s Carl Newman who invited the group to support his solo North American tour. By this time, only two members remained, Cameron Dilworth (guitar/vocals) and Shaun Brodie (trumpet/glockenspiel). Cameron quickly became the creative force behind the Neins. To help fulfil studio and touring obligations, Sean Gilhooly (drums/vocals) and Elaine Fung (bass/keyboards/vocals) were recruited. The Neins played over 25 shows across Canada and the United States with Newman and Rogue Wave where they received an enthusiastic reception including a memorable show opening for Calexico in San Diego and playing the legendary venues of the Troubadour in Los Angeles and the Bowery Ballroom in New York. Following the tour, the group was forced to change their name to the Neins Circa due another band called the Neins who already claimed the name. To add to matters, increasing tensions among members lead to the departure of Sean, Elaine, and eventually, Shaun. Undeterred, Cameron continued to write material for a follow-up album.

Cameron, Sean and Elaine reconciled in the months following the tour and were joined by pianist and singer, Joy Watson. In 2005, Sunday Anthems, was released on Carl Newman''s Blue Curtain label. That summer, the Neins Circa played a handful of shows opening for Novillero. At this time, Joy departed and the group continued on as power trio, but were soon joined by Jane Gowan (Jane Be Jane, Spygirl) on piano, vocals and trumpet. They were soon invited by the CBC to perform a Radio 3 Studio Session. With this new line-up, the Neins Circa entered the studio to record their second album, Please Feel Free To Enter The Tipi, which was released independently. The album began to climb the CBC Radio 3 charts and reached as high as #8 on its R3-30 countdown.

In 2007, the Neins Circa signed on with Vancouver-based Copperspine Records. Please Feel Free To Enter The Tipi was re-released, but under the new moniker, Sleeves And Wigs. With the relocation of Jane Gowan to Toronto, keyboard duties were quickly filled by Erin Jane (The Salteens, Cinderpop). Soon after, Kevin Cromie, an old friend, joined the ranks on guitar and trumpet. The Neins Circa continue to play shows to a growing fan base in Vancouver and are currently wrapping up recording on a soon to be released album in 2008.
