Selling the Ashes is Jordan devoid...
devoid, the debut album from Selling the Ashes, is the best album Trent Reznor never created.
While in most cases comparing one band directly to another is considered bad taste and takes away from the individuality of an artist, Jordan makes it no secret that his goal has always been to be “the next Nine Inch Nails”
And while other bands in the so-called “industrial” genre constantly claim to have a similar sound, for Selling the Ashes, it comes down to a similar style of writing and production.
Jordan does everything himself. Just take a look at the credits page:
“all songs written, arranged, programmed, performed, produced, engineered, and mastered by Jordan devoid in a $3000 home studio”
Despite being produced with such financial limits, devoid rivals the sound quality of many of the best “professionally produced” albums.
One listen, and you will see that it’s really not so bad to be labeled “the next Nine Inch Nails”
