From his earliest years growing up on Long Island''s Great South Bay, to present day, music has always played an important part in Steve''s life. No matter what style the music was, if it could be heard, he was listening.
As a child, he was introduced to the sounds of Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass, Cannonball Adderley, Nat King Cole, Pete Fountaine, Barry Manilow, Billy Joel and Jimmy Buffet. This diverse musical upbringing has shaped his musical background and this broad range of influences can be heard in his songs and in the originality of his voice.
At the age of 5, he received his first drum kit and continued to study in his formative years. He quickly became a fan of the "worlds greatest drummer" - Buddy Rich, and to this day, one of Steven''s greatest memories was personally meeting Buddy on his tour bus following an awe-inspiring performance in the summer of 1985.
His love of music continued to grow and he later taught himself to play the guitar. Strumming on a knock-off Gibson SG his father purchased at a yard sale, he would try to figure out whatever song was playing on the radio.
Steven began singing in community theater and performed in the stage productions of "Godspell" and "A Christmas Carol" among others. He continued singing and studied voice privately which prepared him for his roles as lead singer playing clubs and recording with various rock bands.
In the late 80''s and early 90''s, Steven was the lead singer of the progressive metal and rock bands Aftershock and Damaged. During this period, Steven recorded "Warhammer" and "Color of Greed" with the Aftershock and "Primitive Taste" with Damaged.
During the recording of "Primitive Taste", the band was produced by Robert Spencer (Hittman, Agent Orange, Nuclear Assault) and by Doug Stegmeyer (The Carpenters, Billy Joel and Graham Parker). Both producers left an indelible impression on Steven professionally and personally. Their influence led Steve to enroll in The Audio Recording Technology Institutes audio recording engineer program.
It became Steve''s goal to help other musicians craft their talent and capture it in the studio. In the years that followed, he founded Platinum Sails Recording Services and went on to earn assistant credits on several records with a variety of artists.
In recent years, Steve has been working on a collection of original songs that he has written, performed and recorded himself.
