Hydraulic Excavators Quarrying & Mining Applications

Originally in-print, I rewrote much of this publication and in the process increased the written content by 25% but only availble in pdf format. This 431-page book provides many specifications/technical details because I also wanted to produce a reference book which details many excavators long since out of production. However, hydraulic system summaries for example, have I hope been written in such a way that enables following, irrespective of if a reader is new to hydraulic excavators. Some of the machines featured I know well, whereas others I have had little involvement, but nonetheless, the detail contained far exceeds any other publication of this type that I’ve ever read or flicked through. I have were necessary due to company takeovers and joint ventures, provided historical facts, however, this is not a history book detailing all manufacturers and their products. Rather, unless an excavator has particular historical significance (O&K RH300 for example), the only machines represented are those that I have at the very least seen or had professional involvement with for one reason or another. I took all photographs used in this book and over many years – the oldest of which dates to 1985. Including series change, this work contains over 130 excavator models (from 40 to 980 tonnes), 140,000 words and 460 photographs. Although nothing is perfect, I hope that upon reading Hydraulic Excavators Quarrying and Mining Applications, its readers will consider this an in-depth and interesting insight into both the product and the quarrying and mining industries.
