Details:
Erv Lewis began his career in music as a folksinger and, over time, appeared in a wide range of venues, from local clubs and coffeehouses, regional and national festivals, the International Country Music Festival at Wembley Stadium in London, to network television. While he appeared for a time as part of a duo, and then a trio, he was most popular as a single performer with driving finger-picking and arpeggio guitar styles, original songs about current topics and events, and what was described by one reviewer as ".....amazingly effective audience rapport". Erv''s popularity as a singer/songwriter/guitarist continued across the United States and the United Kingdom, even after the so-called "folk music era".
Then, his life and his music changed. He still wrote and sang about politics, war, and the emptiness people feel as result of world and personal problems, but he sang about a different solution. The songs on this CD represent some of his early work as a Christian singer/songwriter. They skillfully merge sophisticated musicianship, the candidness of his folk music background, and Christianity as a "one-person-at-a-time" lasting solution.
These songs will hit hard and will challenge listeners to examine their lives and how they, as individuals, fit into the whole scheme of things.
