ESOVAE (pronounced S of A) evolved in 1998 from the guitarist''s former band called Students of Alchemy.
About the Band:
Pure passion fuels this powerful foursome into creating and generating alluring modern rock music.
Superior in their craft, this charismatic band delivers inspirational performances leaving the spectators with an experience only ESOVAE can supply.
ESOVAE has been touring the Southwest region and is receiving commercial radio play across the nation for their single "Wake". They have had the honor of performing as direct support for King''s X and opened for Firehouse. ESOVAE received the Rising Star 2003 Award at The Colorado Underground Music Awards and were featured on the cover of Riff Music Magazine as artist pick of the month May 2003. The band was invited to partake in the annual Cruefest 2003 benefit at the Whisky A Go-Go and Quiet Riot''s 2003 DVD release and the NAMM after party at the Cat Club in Hollywood, CA. They have also had the honor of playing the first Denver Bronco''s Fan Fair 2003 at INVESCO FIELD at Mile High, which landed them a pre-game performance at the Denver Broncos vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Game 2003. ESOVAE was invited back in 2004 for the Cruefest and the Denver Bronco''s Fan Fair, but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.
Currently unsigned and independent, ESOVAE is seeking label and tour support. Equipped with a full length album, a web site, merchandise, and Crew Members (Street Team) located in 16 different states and Canada; ESOVAE''s fan base continues to expand with a monthly newsletter touching people in 24 different states and 4 countries. They continue to write new music and look forward to their next full length release, preferably with a label. Esovae will proceed with energetic performances and promotion to catch the eyes and ears of anyone who is willing to watch, listen, and feel the music.
About Each Member:
Brett Walston and his inventive guitar styling rose from study in music theory and performance. His rich guitar tones and textural mastery create a dimension unique to each song. Brett''s knowledge of music helps fuel the engine of ESOVAE''s inspirational creations. Oh yeah, Brett was Curly of the Three Stooges in a past life, neuk, neuk, neuk.....
Marilyn Taylor has acquired a lifetime of experience singing and has studied vocal and breathing techniques to provide a striking delivery to her eloquently crafted lyrics. Her vocals passionately display a perfect mixture of torment and seduction. She effortlessly crosses the boundaries from light and dreamy to dark and disturbed. Marilyn translates each song into a melodic language, solidifying the essence to ESOVAE''s music. Oh yeah, she likes bunnies and kitties n stuff.
Percussionist Bill Travis has a Bachelors Degree in Percussion Performance. His talents have made him sought after by musicians from jazz bands to marimba ensembles. Bills fluid style of composition provides a solid backbone and delivers dynamic intensity to ESOVAE''s music. The ability to create rich and distinctive grooves makes Bill the pulse of ESOVAE. Oh yeah, Bill likes cheesy B horror flicks.
Bassist Scott Dankel has 12 years experience in live performance and recording. His self styled sound and artistic confidence makes him a rare and valuable find. His aggressive delivery and thick bass tone help to cement the foundation of each composition. Scott creates a sonic wave for ESOVAE that disrupts the calm before the storm. Oh, and he likes to build tree houses and runs an active kitty farm.
