Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Workin’ On Commission is honored to have this opportunity to let you know a little about the ministry that God has given us to spread His Word through word and song. Workin’ On Commission takes its name from the “Great Commission” in Matthew 28:19 which commands us to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” The desire of our ministry is for God to use us to reach out to those that are in need of the Savior and to minister to His children through His message in music.
Workin’ On Commission was started in 2004 by a group of four neighborhood friends who shared a passion for music ministry. The band has grown to six members who are each very active in their home churches. Band members include: Jeff Alverson – lead guitar, James Alverson - bass guitar, Jeff Brown – drums, John Godfrey – piano and keyboards, Chris Johnson – rhythm guitar and vocals, and Jeff Wilder–lead vocals. We feel blessed to have developed deeper relationships between each other while collectively and individually strengthening our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
With our ministry, we attempt to create an entertaining and spirit-filled environment by playing both popular contemporary Christian songs and familiar praise and worship standards that can fit into almost any type of worship service or special event. Our repertoire includes favorites from popular artists like MercyMe, Audio Adrenaline, Casting Crowns, Michael W. Smith and Chris Tomlin. We also perform many of our 10 original songs from our self-titled debut CD. Our musical style is a blend of Christian contemporary, praise and worship, rock, and blues with lyrics that will speak to your heart. The goal of our music and performances is to not merely entertain through song, but to soften the hearts of our audience so that they can enter into a time of worship with us.
