As a singer and songwriter he favors the classic forms of Cole Porter, Stevie Wonder, G Love, Marvin Gaye, Warren Zevon, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Nat King Cole, Louis Prima and way too many more to mention. But all of his songs are love songs more or less.
