Once, in a scary part of town, three tall, intimidating men cornered me with the intent to mug me. I was overtaken by a feeling of anger, which made me get all the way up on my tippy toes and yelled as loud as I could to sound really intimidating myself “OH YEAH!?! YOU WANNA HUG!!?? COME ON THEN, LET’S ALL HUG!!” I grabbed the guy standing closest to me and gave him the biggest bear hug I could. Confused, he started to laugh and hugged me back. Then his friends also wanted hugs. We left with smiles on our faces. I hope this story can show you that sometimes things aren’t what they seem, sometimes people are not bad, they are just misunderstood. Sometimes we get misunderstood. All it takes is just a little courage to look past the facades.
