A note from the producer

The Project Amasa concept was born in Santa Barbara, Ca by Kaptain Kirk as a studio project and a live band to support the recording soon there after. Original recordings included Kaptain Kirk Bartholomew, Vic Nudo (both formerly of the metal band WITNESSES) and Marc Soucy (Boston area Musician).

The first three tracks were recorded at JER Studios in Santa Barbara, CA (City of Rock, We Rock and Mean Business), unfortunately, soon after the tracks were laid down, we were told the Studio was to close. A short time later, we were contacted by John Esparza (recording engineer ) to record at Gateway Studios in Carpinteria, CA.

Five new songs were written in addition to the original three for the studio project. Singers Jonathan Raye and Mike Preather added their talents to the new Project Amasa recording. In the mean time Brothers, Bryant Wagner and Scott Wagner, flew out from the Boston area to assist their friend and former bandmate”Kaptain” in the recording.

Unfortunately, shortly after these tracks were recorded, we tragically lost Bryant, and never had a chance to finish the recording, until now. With the technology that is now available, the recording was resurrected. By transferring the original 2” masters to a digital format, we were able to save all the original tracks. All Guitar, Bass, and Drum tracks are as they were originally recorded.

A decision was made to update the disc with some new vocals. So, in addition to Jonathan and Mike, we added Hank Decken (former front man for the group Nevada Beach) and Wendy Poor (from local band Decadence) on vocals.

This disc is being released as a tribute to my good friend and band mate Bryant Wagner, One of the best guitarist I’ve ever had a chance to grace a stage or studio with. The lead tracks on this disc are a testament to his incredible talent. We hope You enjoy this tribute to a good friend.
