9 MP3 Songs
NEW AGE: Ambient, ELECTRONIC: Ambient

Details:
Restless Night Visions was started as a composition/video for a class project in 1992 at Bowling Green State University. Upon graduation with a Masters in Music Composition in 1993, Douglas Graves continued to build upon the concept of insomnia and drifting in and out of sleep. The original framework for the compositions was completed in the winter of 1993.

Through out the following years, Douglas honed the ideas until he had the opportunity to go into a studio and record this CD in 2002. By this time he has been listening to music of Chicane and Underworld and decided to remix the final track into a Trance/Ambient style, which became an appendix to the original concept. Tracks are at times chaotic and contain subtle shifts in textures and notes. Other tracks float with an ease of traditional forms.

Douglas had decided to finally release the CD in 2006, after giving a copy to JS Adams. Adams is a Washington DC area artist who uses BLK w/BEAR as his pseudonym for audio-art outings. Adams requested that tracks be used for his event Queering Sound 2006 echo + decay. Three tracks were used at the event, with title track given a video treatment by artist Nick Lopata.

After the response from people to Much Time Has Passed, Douglas decided to present his first CD here to the public. This is a much more intense CD, but there is beauty in chaos.

People who are interested in Peter Gabriel Steve Reich Brian Eno should consider this download.
