Gary Cavico (sometimes billed as Gary c.) is a blues guitarist/ singer from The JERSEY SHORE.
He has been playing and singing Blues and R&B music at the Jersey Shore since the 60’s. He was brought up in Point Pleasant and spent a lot of time in the Asbury Park area sharpening his skills . His flat/fingerpicking style is a real crowd pleaser. GARY ,who is leader of STONE BLUE, a ROCKIN’ BLUES BAND, has played in many bands over the years. Some of these bands are: THE CHICAGO MASSACRE (with local sax legend ED MANION and local drum legend JOHNNY REO), THE KOKOMOS (who played in many HULLABALLO clubs, ASBURY PARK night clubs ,and the UPSTAGE CLUB in the 60’s), TAKE FIVE, LIP MAN AND THE LIPS,APPLE WINE ,LEGACY, BAKTRAX, VOO DOO BAG, JT BOWEN ,BIG DANNY AND THE POWER 13 BLUES BAND (featuring the late BIG DANNY GALLAGER and KEN “STRINGBEAN” SORENSEN) , DEAD FLOWERS, JIMMY AND THE FIRE, FRANKIE BELL, FLATHEAD DAVE AND THE MAGNETOS,And currently with THE WILLIE MITCHELL COLLABORATION (featuring local blues icon WILLIE MITCHELL).
Gary still performs with his best friends , John Dafnis and Jim “Hank” Henry , in local clubs with STONE BLUE, and performs his solo blues act in local venues to to an appreciative https://www.tradebit.comce the beginning Gary has had the opportunity to perform and record with many local celebs.
He has also performed in many major venues in the area. Some of these are: Jason’s ,Mrs. Jay’s, Stone Pony, Pine Tavern, Giamanno’s , Rajun Cajun, Crossroads, Paul’s Tavern, Tradewinds, Steve Brody’s, Court Tavern, Lincoln Hotel, Brick Wall, Shark’s Finn Inn, Ocean Place, Upstage club ,Rip Tide, Jenkinson’s Cheers, …Just to name a few. Some of the clubs have since closed down but are still legendary in the area. Gary’s guitar work is pure and soulful and so are his vocals.
The CD "PAST AND PRESENT" is a collection of 21 songs written and performed over the years by Gary Cavico. The musicians on the recordings are some of the best at the JERSEY SHORE.
