Pure Faith is an acoustic-driven "Progressive Christian" band from San Antonio, Texas.
Being focused on music evangelism the band is gifted with talented musicians and songwriters. We have written countless songs and have recorded 4 cds. There are also plans to release 2 new cds in 2005. Faith was also a regional finalist in the GMA for songwriting and band competition in 1996.
Pure Faith was established and founded by Monte Black in 1993. Monte a long time Nashville musician and session artist relocated to San Antonio by a calling of the Lord. Uniting with brother Rick, Faith has re-invented itself several times over the past decade.
With diverse musical influences of rock and country, Pure Faith has a sound described and self-named as "Progressive Christian". Faith is able to leap from the full band sound for Worship, prison ministry,and revivals to a smaller configuration of 2-4 members to minister in the once again popular coffee house venues.
The foundation of the sound is formed by the singing and guitar playing of Monte and Rick. With backing vocals supplied by Sherry Black and Brittany Black Williams, their vocal blend is angelic.
