Farpoint was formed in 1997 in South Carolina, USA. From playing local club gigs to festivals and fundraisers, Farpoint has continued to "do their own thing," ignoring current musical trends and creating their own unique brand of melodic progressive rock.
With FROM DREAMING TO DREAMING, Farpoint''s third studio album, the band reaches a new level of maturity in songwriting, performance and production. With a subtle nod to Yes and a not-so-subtle nod to Pink Floyd, the songs take elements of progressive rock, hard rock, folk, Celtic, bluegrass, new-age and more and blend them into one smooth cohesive whole. While the energy level is higher than on previous Farpoint records, the occasional folky ballad and spacey synth excursion create a nice sense of stylistic variety.
