The Central Texas Christian Artist Billy Page started playing music at a very young age. He was born and raised in a small town of Lorena, Texas. Growing up in the small town life with not much do, he found himself enjoying life and music. When he was 16 he wanted to learn the piano and almost every night he would sit down at the keys until something good came out. After a few months he got the hang of it. This was the beginning of a love affair with his passions in life, Christ and music. He was involved in band in high school having great success at the trumpet but not yet aware of the new music path he would take in singing.
His family is one that has always had a deep passion and love for music. His parents were in a southern gospel group (The Messengers Gospel Trio) for over 10 years. Billy, his sister, and brother would travel with their parents on all their musical journeys. From churches to conventions to theaters - they would go. This love for music was passed down from his parents to all of them. He began singing when he was about 6 years old. He remembers the first time he sang in front of his church - "I was so scared that I starred at the floor the entire time." With more encouragement, his sister, brother and he would learn more and step out further.
In 1992, the lead singer of his parents group died unexpectedly of cancer. Not long after, the family decided that they must continue to move forward. The Page Family Singers was created and would soon develop into The Gospel Messengers. While with the gospel messengers he wrote several southern gospel songs including The Storm is Over which was also recorded by the Gospel Messengers and released in 2003.
In 2007, Billy Page released his long awaited debut album entitled New Day. It is receiving high praises and includes “Heroes Pray” which was nominated song of the year by XF Radio in the United Kingdom. The CD has ten songs all written and performed by Billy Page. The album also includes back up vocals by his sister Elisha Page, Drums Joshua Spurling, and guitar Isaac Cooper. The CD will soon be available for global sales.
