Ricky Parish Grew up in a middle class home on the East Coast. His main influences coming up were John lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He moved to Los Angeles in 1986. Taking guitar lessons from many local Guitar Heros. In 1998, Ricky moved to Tucson, AZ. He formed a trio called Ricky P. & The Blues Monsoon. They enjoyed local success. In 1999, in a chance meeting, Ricky was introduced to Diane Hooker-Roan. Daughter of Blues Legend John Lee Hooker. Ricky was invited to perform with John Lee in Phoenix, AZ. That performance gave way to many opportunities for Ricky. He was a featured guitarist with John lee Hooker until John''s untimely death in 2001. In 2003, Ricky returned to his old stompin'' grounds of Pasadena, CA. He formed the Blues Gypsys. Combining a blend of many different styles, they are sought after by many clubs and Venues in California, Arizona, Oregon and Washington. The sheer mind bending skills of Ricky on guitar leaves many audiences wondering where his future lies. Surely he will go on to the heights of a Guitar Legend!
