Wilderness, by San Antonio TX-based artist Fernando Ramirez, is a great CD for fans of melodic rock music.
Housed in a space-saving high-quality fold-over CD wallet, Wilderness is a professionally replicated release that features 10 fantastic, well-produced, high quality rock songs. The songs range in style from upbeat rock (7), to hard rock (1), and finally to that of lyrical ballads (2). All ten tracks are vocal songs: there are no instrumentals.

Wilderness is the second album from artist Fernando Ramirez. His first release, Ramification (2003), was more firmly rooted in 80''s rock, and featured great rock/ballads/instrumental music. That release is also available through CD Baby. Wilderness is a bit of a departure, in that the artist decided to move away from such 80s trademarks as excessive chorus, reverb, and highly processed drums. While Wilderness still contains much vocal layering and often, triple-tracked guitar solos, it has already been described as a more modern sounding recording.
Fernando Ramirez is a gifted musician who has previously been a member of such bands as The Schoolboyz and Full Coverage. His influences are "Mutt" Lange, Tom Scholz, Randy Rhoads, Queen, Gary Moore, SRV, Jimi, Joe Satriani, David Foster, and Eric Johnson. On this release, he used gear by Digidesign, Summit Audio, Epiphone, Brian May Guitars, Line6 Variax, and Warwick.
