Juniper Tar’s debut release, "To the Trees" is the result of the band packing up and heading to Prentice in Northern Wisconsin in April 2007 to record the batch of songs they had been working on since the group’s inception in 2005.
The idea was to stay out of the recording studio environment and invite the room where the song is recorded to be the fifth band member. This allowed for the songs to be played live in one room where separation and instrument tracking would not become a separate process.
The songs on "To the Trees" come together in a collage with a unifying theme of separation and solitude, sometimes longing for it while other times cursing it.
Beginning this spring and summer, Juniper Tar will be supporting To the Trees with live shows throughout the Midwest and east coast.
