Kenne is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Born to a Japanese father and an American/Jewish mother, Kenne first got his start in the entertainment industry as a child model and Off-Broadway chorus boy, to the voice behind the TV commercial jingle, "Cotton, The Fabric Of Our Lives." After performing in several musical theatre productions and independent films, Kenne decided to focus his attention on his two true loves, singing and songwriting. As a result, Kenne made connections with other up-and-coming singer/songwriters, and went into the studio to record numerous demo tapes. It was through one demo in particular that Kenne had the chance of a lifetime to receive a reply from international record producer extraordinaire, Phil Harding, from the United Kingdom. Phil is most noted for being the man behind the successes of Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Gina G., East 17, Tricia Leigh Fisher, and Bananarama, just to name a few! It was after a trip to London, that Phil Harding agreed to take a chance on this unknown yet very motivated artist. Kenne recorded several songs with Phil, and John McDonald (Phil''s production partner), including the songs "Take Me Back," "Touched By Love," "I Still Love You" and "Falling In Love." Kenne also had the chance to write and co-produce with one of Germany''s top dance music producers, Doug Laurent, of Culture Beat and La Bouche fame. Kenne released several songs with Doug, such as: "YOU CAN DANCE," "THIS IS YOUR NIGHT," and the TOP 40 US BILLBOARD HOT DANCE CLUB PLAY CHART hit, entitled, "EVERYBODY HAPPY!” The latter song reached ** no. 31 ** on the Billboard Dance Chart, and went to ** no. 12 ** on Music Week''s "Commercial Pop Top 30 Chart" in the United Kingdom. The music video for this song received massive airplay on A3 TV, VIVA PLUS TV GERMANY and hit the TOP 20 CHART on the nationwide Canadian music channel, BPM TV, for over 3 1/2 MONTHS! Kenne then followed up "Everybody Happy" with a song he covered by the legendary group, NEW ORDER, entitled, "True Faith" with mixes by Almighty, Mike Cruz, Mike Rizzo, and France''s own Patrice Strike and Raphael Garraud. During this time, Kenne also made a music video on the streets of Paris, France in order to help promote this single. Canada''s BPM TV showed amazing support for this video, and in March of 2006, the video went all the way to *** no. 1 *** on the Canadian music channel for 2 consecutive weeks!! The video also made it to ** no. 39 ** as one of the most requested videos of 2006 on BPM TV! "True Faith" was also played on M6 TV CLUB FRANCE, MCM TV FRANCE, PINK TV FRANCE, and once again in the US on A3 TV. Thanks to generous DJ, club, press and video support, "True Faith" reached ** no. 6 ** on the United Kingdom''s "Commercial Pop Top 30 Chart", ** no. 7 ** on the French Club Chart, and reached a very impressive ** no. 12 ** on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart in the US in 2005. Kenne also had the great privilege of having his version of "True Faith (Mike Cruz Tribal Mix)" featured on DJ LYDIA PRIM''S compilation CD, entitled, "PARTYGROOVE: BLUE BALL VOL. 4" available everywhere on Centaur Music.
Currently, Kenne is thrilled to announce the cd promo release of his new single,"FALLING IN LOVE" for the UK market. The song was written by Phil Harding, Ian Curnow, Andy Caine, and John McDonald (BMG / PALAN / BLUE AUGUST Music). The new commercial pop/dance track boasts remixes by PORL YOUNG, GIUSEPPE D., MIKE RIZZO and BASTONE & BURNZ!!!
