The Mediam is the hardest working new band in show business. Though the post-rock foursome has been playing for less than a year, the band has already toured nationally, released two successful CD-EP''s and obtained significant West Coast airplay. In their first year The Mediam played more than 115 times. The Mediam''s current release Out Of Ideas is making a scene. Out Of Ideas title and cover art is a tongue-in-cheek take off of the legendary Minor Threat . The disc features three new singles and a fresh look at "Re-Ignition" the Bad Brains classic and concludes with a medley of Marvin Gaye''s "Let''s Get It On" into Dr. Dre''s "Xxplosive". Singer, Gus Nicklos commented on the CD''s concept,
"We were rotating about 15 cover songs into our set. We wanted to represent that in this recording."
This Fall The Mediam are heading down south for yet another California road trip, which includes stops at the Dragonfly and Red Devil Lounge. The remainder of the year will be spent writing and recording the band''s first full length studio album, due to release sometime in spring.
