I was sitting on the porch, one summer day and playing my casio keyboard along with Herbie Hancock’s “Headhunter” when I realized: I will be playing music for the rest of my life. It dawned on me with the force and certainty of the sun rising, Later things would become a lttle clearer. I would be writing songs for the rest of my life, which I think I like https://www.tradebit.com thrill of hearing a new song that speaks to me in some unexpected way is like finding a room in your house you didn’t know was there, or meeting someone for the first time whom you feel like you already know. There are a million metaphors, I suppose.
Right. So, about me: I got born, realized I didn’t want to be like my parents, hung out with the radio in high school, spent hours trying to learn songs by the Smiths and Tears for Fears and Billy Joel and Howard Jones on the piano, went to college, went to India for 6 years, where I started a center with my friends, Mark and Dara. Then I met Karina and we left India.
At first, I wrote songs to document broken hearts and other discoveries, then it became something like a diary, and somewhere along the line, I just started to really love the art of it. And that’s just my side. When I share music and find people who feel like I do about it—ahh, what a feeling.
