Never a person to give in to the changing music scene with his folkal songs surfaces the UK base JA born singer has steadly been at the mill doing as any indie artist can do putting out his tunes for the urban world roots reggae lovers who have come to expect a good set of materials from the Moonwavemusic label outputs that started out from 87'' with a 12" 45rpm single entitled "GOOD THAT YOU DO" backed by Black Steel then a resident multi-talented musician base mainly at Ariwa Recording Studio that is still base in Whitehorse Lane, Crystal Palace, South London
Putting out tunes and doing a fair amount of live shows has always been this artist focus for giving the people the real deal of presenting his works the true and propa way artists should work in the industry, we all suppose to be developing our arts for a greater resolvement for the people who support and buy our music
After a good deal of his label releases and various combine productions with various studio/producers he has manage to put together this compact album issues of 12 songs and upbeat roots/reggae titles that are very much to the liking of those who have grown to love the artist works for sheer raw vocal delivery that set him amongs UK base/JA born finest for been able to coin a song with the intense hooks and ready drive that he is know for regularly in the roots music scene
The energy that you feel when you go to the roots reggae sound systems dances is breath taking as the artist is played mainly by the UK''s top sound such as Jah Shaka, Abba-shantites,Channel One,King Earthquake to name a few quality sound systems that you will know the artist music by been played constantly in their sessions with their added dynamics to boost the sessions to the max for the overall vibrations inna rootsman session
This present album "DREAD MUSIC AFFAIRS/INNALOVEOFJAH" is a compilation of songs produced at 5 main UK studio with top engineers such as Russ D, Dougie Consious, Steve Vibronics are are well known for their strong productions works out in the roots/reggae studio affairs, admittingly some of these tunes have seen daylight before on their own singles issues with tracks like "CRY REBEL" a 12" 45rpm release that house a strong message of upliftment notions for the ''get up,stand up and be counted'' theme that run thru this live bassline track recorded at the Consious Music Studio
The AA side "WORDS OF JAH MESSAGE" of that same vinyl is a very fine production fron the bloster riddim maker from Leicester Steve Vibronics who has been very good to work with as his methods of working to get a results has been positive in the combinations of making this a very rootsy dancehall tunes that will make you want to flex a leg when the bass and riddim drops in,
Never a dull moment making these tunes as we were always having nuff fun bouncing vibes and ideas off each other to get the songs and music fitted up right and tight for a good overall balance in the recordings, so these were great intervations of roots music creations inna UK roots music works
There are plenty stories to tell of these studio sessions as everyone has a good tale to tell of going into the studio as getting together can be the hard part as distance time and place, but once we''re in the studio it''s total music vibes and the melodies that take us to a next level to make these songs memories by the score, as the topics and riddim were never that predictable, such has the track that is the only cover song on the album as this came about by vertial mystic with a day out in London with Russ D of BSL studio/Backyardmovement label,
We had finish going around the records shops in the city and still had some time to fill in the late afternoon when we got back to Russ Studio he was just playing some of his riddims that he was working on in recent weeks and he played a deep rooted mid-tempo riddim, while nodding to the tune Russ D asked me if I knew any rastaman songs that could fit on the riddim and without really thinking about any particular tradictional nyah-bingi chant songs the "Run Come Rally" lyrics came to me flew in from Jah and I was''nt consious at the time of who''s song it really was as I may not have gone thru with the vocals, cause I never view myself singing over other artist songs only say singalong with them
But it was not even a really deliberate take we were just having some fun filling time before I headed home on the dreaded M25 motorway that rings London to get back to my home town Luton, as that is how that tune came about nothing planned as to say we set out to cover Mr Yabby U song that is a yard classic from in the days 70''s and so forth,
The reason why it came out is that we were quite amused how this song fused into an already build riddim as if it was tailer made for the man lyrics, and the few peope who heard the track took such a liking to the tune some people kept asking are we going to put it out, the true is Russ D only kept that track for a personal Dubplate tune that he or I may play in our selections say when we do sound/dances but not to seriously release as a street tune
But after a while it just grew on some people ears and having been asked how we got the song to sound so authentic as near the original Yabby U recording, I was confident that the tune should be taken up on the MWM label for a 12" release that goes to show when you are trying to do a serious recording and pressures are around you it''s may not always give you the best results as a off the cuff session may serve up a gem that I may never have done
I don''t really have any regrets for touching on such a great foundation tunes why? because the orginal song is a major roots tune over the years that has been inside of my consiousness from hearing it over the decades and it came out of total spontainous reactions into been a re-works of the new roots generation such as the great man who is known as the orginal Jesus dread/Yabby U as this signified a next insight to the faith and way to the "Innaloveofjah"
There are much more I will endeavour to show of this album project that is always an inspirational in the ways things come together to make a combine efforts for a showcase of music in songs of the "DREAD MUSIC AFFAIRS" a point of note is that this is the vocal issue of a double release CD, perhaps I may be able to put out a vinyl release of the album some day if the markets give up causes for this with the downloads making it''s mark on the modern ways of obtaining music globally
I am sure when you listen to the album somethings will reach out to you now and then afterwards you will think, I am sure that did this and that did that when I played it last time, and such like vibes to take you into a certain journey into the unknown time and space of the causes of "Jah Love to the Rescue" that could be term as the most lovers origins of the tracks, so until a updates of these texts get hold of your copy and let the "Essence Of The Day" pours out wonderful realms all-over you nicely in one love vibrations...
