Details:
The Flints being Stan Flint and Al Huizenga, of Toronto, where we live with our families. We originally recorded these songs in Al''s basement, with equipment his brother lent him. We''d quiet the kids, do a track, and they''d start stomping around again. Took forever. Lots of cigarettes. But we liked the songs.
So we did them again. With friends this time, at Halamusic in Toronto. It took a while. Lots of people put in lots of time. We drank beer and hung out. Al fell through a false ceiling once, but mostly it was great. And now the songs are done and here on CD Baby.
As for the Flints: Stan and Al are old mates. They write and play songs together, mostly out of habit. A great band backs them up. You can see them play in Toronto if you like. But you would have to come to Toronto (or, if you wanted, they could come play where you are).
As for the songs: They''re ours and we love them. We think they''re good songs for driving north to. We''ve never tried, but someone should. We also think you can''t have too many trombone tracks. More is always better. If, while listening, you hear echoes of other older songs, it''s because we do too, in our heads all the time.
