------------------------------

Dave was born in the North East of England, UK towards the end of the last millenium. Today he resides in the warmer climes of the South West.

He is very keen to present and distribute his new music under the name of Flowerbed especially now his spark for songwriting (see ''Songbook'') has been rekindled.

For many years, he focussed heavily on composing contemporary classical music. In reward for that, he enjoyed several live performances of his work across the UK (and as far away as Taiwan) by renowned classical performers such as the Kokoro Ensemble, Gemini and pianist James Clapperton.
Dave also completed his PhD in Musical Composition in the summer of 2000.

Prior to this, Dave once enjoyed national exposure as someone called Mr Food, a character featured in one of the many humorous jingles he specifically wrote and recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio One and Two''s "Steve Wright In the Afternoon" in the early 1990''s (and, as revived again, in the early 2000-ies!).
One of those jingles, entitled "AN'' THAT''S BEFORE ME TEA" (a quick-fire Geordie monologue with piano accompaniment) was released on Tangible Records and reached No.62 in the UK Gallup Charts (check the Guinness Book Of Hit Singles!) while Dave himself appeared live to perform the single on TV programmes such as ITV''s "This Morning" and "The Hitman and Her."

Back to present day, his recent return to songwriting is best exemplified by the eleven heartfelt songs on his latest CD, ''Songbook.''

There are other sound worlds further removed within which he remains keen to explore (as heard on CDs, "Still" and "Stills 1-10", available now from https://www.tradebit.com) so, with regard to the next project, it''s fair to say one should expect the unexpected.

Dave likes baked beans, Billy Connolly and The Beatles.
