Thom Lyons Band hails from London; we’ve been together for two years and have played tirelessly all over the capital. Our unmistakable quality stems from a life-long obsession with music. From indie/rock to dirty funk, banging batucada to compelling classical music, we listen to it all. In fact, if you put our record collections together and laid them in a line, you could get to the Manchester Apollo and back. We’re music geeks at heart.
You’re probably wondering who we sound like. Well, we sound like us. Sure, there’s a bit of Dave Mathews, U2, Crowded House, Radiohead, Coldplay, Jason Mraz and maybe a bit of Jeff Buckley, but really: our sound is our own. We’ve got that subtlety and grace, that hard edge and richness, and yes, we can push the clichéd wall of sound right at you. But guess what? Our sound is constantly evolving too. If we’re honest about it, we’re probably the best band you’ve ever heard.
Our records are great, having won awards and recognition such as Track Of The Day/Week on sites like https://www.tradebit.com, and having the “thumbs up” from people in Canada, Australia, America, Germany and Malaysia. But where we really shine is on stage at our live performances, so come and check us out. We stand out from the crowd, we’ll make you stop and take notice, and you won’t file us under ‘mediocre’.
