A LITTLE ABOUT THE SONGS

The lyrics for all of the songs were written over the past four years. Yonder goes a madman is the title cut on the CD. I wrote the song about a black man that I met living in Greensboro North Carolina under a railroad bridge. The first time I met him he asked me if I could give him some money to buy a Memphis egg. I didn''t know what a Memphis egg was. He told me it was a bottle of wine. Since he was so honest about it he got the money, and we got to be pretty good friends. He told me that in his younger days he was a blues singer and guitarist. I''m glad I got to meet Mr. Jones and write about him.

Jehovah Joe is a song that came out of my childhood when I lived in Pennsylvania. Jehovah witnesses were plentiful in our small town, as they are in most places. Well my mother had her own remidy for dealing with them. She locked the doors, and closed all of the blinds. We were all supposed to be quiet till they went away. It would have been easier to just tell them she didn''t want to talk to them but she did it her way.

I began writing Turn around about my father but it quickly turned into a song about my own life. The first verse is about my dad. He truly was a saint it seemed to me. He worked in the cole mines of pennsylvania from the time he was 14. I don''t remember hearing him saying a bad word or talking about anybody in a bad way his whole life. I still have the same wife and three children that are mentioned in the song.

6 AM blues is pretty self explanitory. I don''t know to many people who are happy about having to get up in the early morning to go to a job they aren''t real happy about to begin with.

We two was written about my daughter and her husband who were living with me and my wife at the time. They spent most of their waking hours arguing about one thing or another. Most often money or the lack of same.

Takes one to know one was written because I was talking to a friend and he said it takes one to know https://www.tradebit.com Sounded like a song to me, and now it is.

Life begins at 40 was the first song I wrote for the CD. Even before I knew we were going to make a CD. My rythum guitar player Kenny Moore had a guitar part he was working on and asked me to put some words to it. He was 40 at the time, and it inspired the lyrics.

Well that about does it. I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I have enjoyed writing them, and as much as we enjoyed recording them for you.
