Biography
With a sound that is distinctively unique, Athena will encourage & uplift you with each of song from her debut release “Unconditional Love.”
Though she’s been singing as long as she could speak, Athena started singing publicly in various programs at the age of 6. Her gift of singing blossomed throughout her youth as a lead singer for numerous choirs & groups throughout the St. Louis (MO) area. She is dedicated to sharing & honing her gift. A gift that has opened doors for her to sing across the nation & share the stage with the likes of Kirk Franklin, The Clark Sisters, Hezekiah Walker & Dr. Bobby Jones. An award winning Opera singer, Athena has studied everything from Gospel to show tunes. Utilizing these methods to have helped her develop a well-rounded repertoire to produces her smooth spiritual sound.
Her title track “Unconditional Love” speaks to the way that God loves us in the midst of our waywardness. In these turbulent times songs like “I Trust You & Gotta Keep On” will encourage you to hold on despite how grim the future my seem. The theme of God’s love & his desire to be with you permeates the album. This theme is punctuated by the single “Time with you” produced by Levi “Too” King. A conversational piece, “Time with you” speaks to how we can be so busy doing good works, but not doing God’s work. “Unconditional Love” is produced primarily by Terry “Mr. Fingers” Bradford with contributions by Al “Phonzeto” Harried & Roderick “Pub G” Finch.
Athena’s life has been an extraordinary example of endurance, perseverance, and success. She uses these triumphs to encourage others through her music Athena enjoys sharing her testimony of triumph over adversity and encouraging the downtrodden that they too can make it. Her life is a model of Philippians 4:13 (KJV), which states: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
