Bridelle Huston, a native New Yorker and known to many as Bri’, began expressing herself through song at the tender age of five. At that age, Bridelle had a musical ear beyond her years. Under the direction of her mother she, along with her sister, began singing accapella in various churches throughout the metropolitan area and became known as The Cody Sisters. Her uncle Mac Sulliver, producer/musician, gave Bridelle her start as a recording artists at the age of 10 years old on a compilation project featuring the Cody Sisters. Bridelle comes from an extremely gifted musical family, where her parents and siblings are all vocalists and/or musicians. Bridelle grew up listening to a variety of music from Gospel to Rock. Her parents were directors of the youth choir at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle (BGT) Jamaica, New York. That is where the gift inside Bridelle began to flourish. She sang with BGT’s Junior Choir for ten years, and later became part of the praise team serving under God’s anointed Worship leader Deloryce Bright.
In 1987, Bridelle joined a New York based Gospel Jazz ensemble, New Born Soul, directed by James Parris III. Bridelle states this group was far beyond their time. As a member of New Born Soul, Bridelle enhanced her already gifted musical ear, and progressed in complex harmonies. In 1994 Bridelle joined KISS Inspiration’s Choir, directed and founded by Latoya Beasley (of KISS FM), and co- directed by Sean Court (Kiss Inspirations DJ). Bridelle’s vocal ability was instantly recognized and she became one of the choir’s lead vocalists. The choir performed at renowned venues such as Madison Square Garden, and the Apollo. Bridelle has performed background vocal for musical icons such as Shirley Caesar, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Helen Baylor and Darius Brooks. Daryle Douglas. Bridelle was also selected to perform background vocals live at Lincoln Center, New York, on the CBS morning news network as well as at Shea Stadium in tribute to the late Founder of Gospel music, Thomas Dorsey. In 1995, Bridelle branched out and started her own group called Bridelle Cody and One Creation, where she showcased her vocal, songwriting, and producing abilities. Bridelle and One Creation were featured on the Spirit of New York Cruise, and at numerous local cafés. In 1996 Bridelle married Wade Huston, a prolific producer/songwriter in his own right, and they soon launched their own music production company named X925 Productions Corp.
Bridelle studied classical/jazz voice and piano at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Flushing New York for one year and afterwards received private vocal coaching from Gospel/Jazz vocal instructor, Juanita Fleming of Roosevelt Island, New York. Bridelle considers her style to be Popular, but can easily flow with various genres of music. A few of Bridelle’s vocal influences were Whitney Houston, CeCe Winans, and Crystal Lewis. Some of her most influential producers were Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Babyface. Bridelle has worked with renowned musical producers/geniuses such as Eric Reed, Osborne “Dinky” Bingham, and Hubert Eaves III. Bridelle is known to these producers as a great vocalist, having a gifted ear and excellent tone.
Bridelle’s Debut project, Onward & Upward is one for the ages. She states that these songs are for anyone who wants to be uplifted. It reaches out to the broken hearted; the lost and those who need an encouraging word. Bridelle along with her husband produced and wrote for the project which we believe will truly reach the masses. All musical arrangements were performed by one of the greatest producers in the Gospel industry today, Eric Reed, who has produced and arranged for artists such as Fred Hammond, Martha Munizzi, Byron Cage, and a host of others. It is a must have!
When Bridelle is not performing, some of her hobbies are writing, bowling, hair styling, and walking. Bridelle was employed by the Federal Government for seventeen years where she served the Public for the Social Security Administration (SSA). She enjoyed the interaction with the public, and believes her employment with SSA prepared her for the music ministry. Through her employment she was exposed to and helped all races, persuasions and personality types and plans to do the same as an artist. Bridelle sees herself as humble, yet confident in her gifting and knows she needs God in every area of her life. Bridelle currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, and two beautiful daughters, Alexis and Courtney. She attends Kingdom Builders Church International where Darryl L Grant is the Pastor and Founder and where she is an active member of the praise team, and an alternate worship leader.
