Details:
Dry September is an LA-based band at the forefront of rock''s New Populism movement. Their songs tell stories of defiance, resistance, and community--stories of downtrodden outcasts and underdogs from across the American landscape. Their crunchy guitars, vivid storytelling, Hammond organs, and catchy melodies recall some of rock''s boldest artists, past and present: Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Wilco. Or, as the band members describe themselves, “Woody Guthrie meets The Clash.”
Their latest CD, entitled “Build a New Town,” features 10 new tracks. These songs present characters at their most defiant, most hungry, and most vulnerable, fighting for dignity during hard times in a hard land.
Dry September has been performing regularly throughout southern California for the past two years and developed a committed community of followers. Recent appearances in support of their new album include shows at The Roxy, The Viper Room, and Key Club. They were recently chosen as finalists for the annual A & R Connection Showcase in Hollywood. Their song "Somewhere West" was just awarded the https://www.tradebit.com Americana Track of the Day.
