Details:
The Electric Era''s sophomore album ''A Little Less Gravity'', released March 2008, delivers more of the trademark edgy pop that made their 2005 debut a highly original listen. If anything, the eclectic variety of 80''s Post-Punk influences is even more realised on this album. Nonetheless, their music firmly defies pidgeon-holing: Slow, fast, loud, quiet, abrasive and smooth, it all sits nicely in their unique musical melange.
The Electric Era deliver an original alternative, indie pop recipe: dashes of laid back New Zealand kumara mash garnished with precision Germanic cucumber, and a sprinkling of British post-punk pickles.
Hints of 80''s Dunedin ginger pop a la The Chills and The Clean are blended with a few harder rock/new wave riffs and atmospheric mayonnaise synth dressing reminiscent of The Cure and Joy Division.
