Details:
Formed in Des Moines in the fall of 1999, Evelyn Finch and Joe Kiplinger had just left music school to make use of their talents in the real world. Originally organizing a basement band to write songs and play oddball covers, Evelyn and Joe employed the help of some friends and, after a few changes in the lineup, decided to get serious. With new bass player Ben Baier, drummer Weston Dailey, and a fresh outlook for the band, Frankenixon was born.

Frankenixon successfully merge indie rock, jazz and pop influences into a cohesive montage of looping, piano-laden music that is both wistful and ominous without being sad. Vocalist Evelyn Finch''s beautifully chaotic voice weaves delicately through a distorted, haunted backdrop. At times, Finch gently whispers, pensively reminiscing before erupting into a cathartic burst of energy, pounding away at her keyboard in an effortless outburst of emotion.

With three releases under their belt, Frankenixon has just released their second full-length album "Amorphous" on Bi-Fi Records. The album was recorded with engineer Scott Solter at John Vanderslice''s Tiny Telephone Studio in San Francisco. On Amorphous Frankenixon explores darker territory than their first album "Depth Perception", but still somehow manages to maintain their pop sensibilities in moments of sheer brilliance.

Committed to relentless touring, Frankenixon will soon be coming to a town near you.
