Queen Sovyva born Lilieth Richards in 1971, is one of Jamaica successful female reggae artist. Who now sings “Lover’s Rock and Dancehall. She emerge in 1992 as a gospel singer in Jamaica, and was a member of “Gospel Melodies” played to sold out concert around Jamaica. In 1996 her group performed with her favorite Gospel Artist “Joan Flemings And The Inspirers”, at the prison oval in Spanish Town . Given the opportunity that night as the lead to sing “Roll back the curtains” was indeed a performance with emotion and tears. This has given her the inspiration after she migrated to Madison Wisconsin, and release her first Gospel CD in 2000 “Conqueror”. Her music has a great impact on others including her fans, and continue to gain artist respect throughout her tours, and performances.
In November 2003 she started writing Lover’s rock and dancehall music. From ever since she hasn’t slow down. Soon after Yami Bolo a producer, Grammy winner, and international Singer was impressed with her work and decided to give her a break. This again is another kick off for her music career. Queen Sovyva album feature’s Yami Bolo and Ed Robinson. Her three songs “When I needed You Most has great significance to her, and what she has been through. Others can relate to her music as well. “Forever I do” is a song dedicated to those who found love, and “You and I” written by her brother Noel Richards, who was faced with obstacle in his relationship. This Album has persuade fans of reggae and non reggae listeners. Her performances continue to be a success and soar across the nation with standing ovation. “Tropical Riddim” WORT 89.9 FM with DJ Frank was the first to debut and did a live interview with her. She performed at various venues throughout Wisconsin such as; the Annex, the Cardinals and others. She also performed with KOJO Band, whenever they arrive in her turf, and Rock of Ages Reggae Band. In April 2007 she made an appearance with world renowned artist “Mickey Dread”. Queen Sovyva has drew fans and media attention. Recently she was recognized in the Clarion and South Side Exposure.
Her new release “When I Needed You Most”. is taking the breath and length on the air and online. Queen Sovyva music is a smooth mix blend with blues, soul, and reggae. Class as the “uplifting and captivating reggae music” which drives the crowd wild.. It is the most special requested album on KNBA radio in Alaska on Sundays with Prince Albert.
